pale yellow and has fairly unique citrus aroma. the aroma is not the mouth-watering aroma of fresh orange or mandarin - it is a bit more sour. ( the Yuzu fruit is often referred to as 'sour mandarin'
Originally grown in China - it has been exported widely. Japan is a significant growing area and India is also a very fertile ag area.
As with all cold pressed citrus oils you might see slight sedimentation on settling - some of the heavy phytochemicals existing in the rind. They can be used or filtered out.
