lavandin is a hybrid of true lavender and spike lavender. it grows larger quicker and is generally hardier. All this generally means a higher oil yield and cheaper price.

Fragrance is lavender, quite sharp with a distinct camphor note. not sweet like a true French lavender, but has throw and has persistence. If you want the sweet note - similar to that of true lavender then go for the lavandin grosso. If you want a real lavender that is similar then go the for the Lavender Spain- it has similar properties , with a more complex top note.
