Information

In Australia's harsh climate our faces are often the first to suffer. But this need not be the case. Ideally we should always wear at least 15+ SPF sunscreens and/or hats when outside in the sun, particularly between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. when the sun is at its harshest (even in winter). And nightly use a rejuvenating oil blend with oils chosen specifically to nourish, replenish and repair.

You'll find that these blends are so fine that they do not leave a greasy residue. The oils are chosen because of their nourishing qualities and their ability to penetrate deeply below the epidermus where they have the greatest benefit. Some oils such as carrot seed, evening primrose and vitamin E are known for their skin repairing properties. You will find with these blends that they may reduce the appearance of fine lines over time with continued use, as well as leaving the skin supple and rejuvenated.

Recipes

Replenishing Nightly Facial Blend

15 mls macadamia nut oil
5 mls apricot kernel oil
3 mls avocado oil (unbleached)
1 ml jojoba oil
12 drops vitamin E oil
6 drops evening primrose oil
5 drops french lavender essential oil
3 drops african geranium essential oil
2 drops clary sage essential oil
2 drops patchouli finest essential oil

Fills a 25 ml bottle.

To use: gently clean your face of the day's grime and pat off excess water (they massage in easier if the skin is still damp). Add a dozen drops of the blend to the palm of your hand, gently rub hands together and then massage the oil into the face, from the neck up, using a circular motion.

Eye Repair Blend

2 mls apricot kernel oil
12 drops evening primrose oil
12 drops vitamin E oil
12 drops jojoba oil
12 drops avocado oil (unbleached)
6 drops wheatgerm oil
6 drops french lavender essential oil
6 drops calendula oil
6 drops carrot seed essential oil

Fills a 5 ml bottle.

To use: gently clean the area around the eyes (being careful to remove all makeup, including mascara). Massage one to two drops into the delicate skin beneath the eye and up onto the eyelid.

Be careful to avoid getting the oil into the eye itself.

Method

  1. Accurately measure out the ingredients into an amber, blue or green glass bottle. When all ingredients are added, cap and shake well so they incorporate fully. You may need to shake the bottles from time to time before use.

  2. I recommend only making small quantities at one time so that the blends are always at their optimum.

  3. Because so little is needed these quantities do last a long time. You may like to refrigerate, particularly in summer, to ensure further longevity.
